Our beef is exceptionally lean, low in cholesterol and sodium, and rich in omega-3s, vitamins, and antioxidants. Our ground beef averages 90/10 lean, but unlike most lean meats, it is moist and packed with full-bodied flavor. We achieve this by feeding our cattle exclusively on grass, rather than conventional grain finishing.
Our cattle enjoy their days grazing on pasture, where they never receive grain, silage, or animal byproducts. We practice Management Intensive Grazing (MIG), moving our cattle in high-density rotations that allow the grass and land ample rest periods. This method not only improves manure distribution and reduces land impact but also extends the growing season by enhancing drought resistance and providing stockpiled winter grazing, which minimizes the need for winter hay.
We are committed to developing our herd for desirable meat characteristics, adaptability to grass, maternal instincts, and temperament. Our herd primarily consists of heritage breed Devon, known worldwide for its exceptional eating quality and ability to thrive on grass. We also incorporate some Black Angus genetics to enhance our cattle based on our unique forages, climate, and management techniques.
We raise our beef beyond organic standards. Not only do we refrain from using hormones, steroids, or routine antibiotics, but we also keep our cattle on pasture year-round—365 days a year—never confining them to feedlots or feeding them grain. While this may exceed organic requirements, we believe in caring for our animals as they care for us.
