To ensure a well-balanced diet, we provide a free-choice non-GMO grain ration, as pigs are not ruminants like cattle and cannot thrive on pasture alone. This approach allows our pigs to select their food, promoting optimal health and growth.
Keeping our pigs on pasture not only enhances the quality of the meat but also helps reduce odor issues and effectively distributes manure—traditionally a problem in confinement operations. The result is lean, flavorful pork that is both delicious and healthy.
After the pigs finish foraging in one pasture, we rotate them to another and allow at least 90 days of rest for the land. This practice encourages robust grass regrowth, ensuring the health of the pasture for future rotations.
